Hispanic Tattoos – Traditional gothic pride!

Hispanic Tattoos has always been a method of communication and identification by the Hispanic gangs. Traditional Hispanic gangs also referred to as Latin gangs ("Latin Souls" and "Orchestra Albany") use tattoos extensively. These tattoos mostly include one or more symbols that have been adopted as an icon exclusive to identify its members. The bigger and more prominent the tattoo, the harder it is to hide and the more inspiring it is to other gang members. For this, the most widespread gang tattoos are mostly found on the arms, hands, or shoulders. They may be as small as a homemade dot on the hand, or great enough to cover the whole back or stomach. Olden English letters and Aztec numbers and words are widespread among Hispanic people.

Hispanic Tattooing is also often used to convey some pessimist philosophy of life. One popular tattoo among Hispanic gangsters is a depiction of the smiling and crying comedy and tragedy masks, meaning, "play now and pay later," or "my happy life, my sad life." A Clock tattoo, as well as tattoos symbolizing doing time in prison and the gang alliance are also very common. One tombstone is tattooed for each year they are imprisoned. The tombstone tattoos are sometimes used to honor other Hispanic gang members killed in gang-related violence.

Another common tattoo among Hispanic gangsters is the Pachuco Cross tattoo, tattooed between the thumb and index finger. The same place is often alternatively tattooed with three dots in a triangle shape, a symbol meaning "my crazy life."

Some Hispanic gangs take pride in branding themselves beyond the margins of conservative society through their tattoos. The tattoos are also used to express their often nihilistic values. It is common to have the name of the person tattooed on the back of the neck or have a motto tattooed on the chest as symbol of pride.

But as times have changed much, these tattoos serve no more as a unique pride. With the help of internet above all, getting these prideful Hispanic symbols tattooed is now as easy as ABC!

Adam @ Graceland Tattoo: All Good Things

I'm back from Roc City. It was a total blast!. It's always great to see old friends and make new ones. I had the chance to make cool tattoos and I even got a few of my own. JR Tubbs and Krooked Ken were kind enough to stick me a few times.

I'm also really proud to say I had the chance to sit down for an interview for the online magazine Swallows and Daggers. I really like the site and visit it often so I was really stoked to have the opportunity. It was put together well by my friend Shane Cashman and if you have a chance, give it a read.

The picture above is of me and Krooked Ken.
