Washable Tattoos — Fun For Adults and Children
Although we usually think of children and crackerjack boxes when someone refers to washable tattoos, these temporary tattoos can really be worn by almost anyone, of any age, for a variety of different reasons. The problem with getting a permanent tattoo is ... just that. It's a permanent tattoo. Since a certain percentage of the tattooed people regret getting the tattoo afterwards, it can be a good idea to try a temporary tattoo first, one that can simply be washed off when you're tired of it. That's the true beauty of a washable tattoo. And if you just hate to wash it off, then you know it's time for a permanent tattoo to take its place.
A tattoo that can be washed off the following day is great for a special evening or daytime event. When the special event is over, you simply wash the tattoo off, just as you would your makeup. While these types of tattoos are a favorite party favor at kids' parties, they can be just as appropriate for adults.
There are a few types of tattoos that are completely washable. With the traditional kind, you lay the tattoo against the skin, and press down with a wet cloth for several seconds. After carefully pulling off the tattoo sheet, you're left with the image on your skin, almost like applying a tattoo sticker. The tattoo will usually last for a few days, and will either wear off on its own, or can be washed off with soap and water.
There are also airbrush that are completely washable with soap and water as well. The area to be tattooed should first be washed with alcohol to prepare it. The tattoo image is then sprayed on using stencils. Afterwards, the tattoo should be "set" by dusting it with baby powder. Finally, there are henna tattoos, also known as Mehndi, these temporary tattoos may last as long as three weeks or even longer.
